Frequently asked
Things people ask first.
The honest answers to the questions that come up most. If you don't see yours here, write to hello@officialsaya.com and we'll add it.
Will it turn my clothes green?
No. Solid bronze with a heirloom antique-gold finish on the visible surfaces. The pin shaft is brass with a roll-clasp tip — it doesn't touch the front of the fabric, so even on white silk you won't see oxidation marks. We've worn pieces every day for three months in Hyderabad humidity to test this.
Is it real gold?
No — and we're transparent about that. House of Saya is high-quality imitation jewellery: hand-cast solid bronze with a heirloom-grade antique-gold finish, hand-buffed at our Hyderabad studio. The finish is built to last the lifetime of the piece if you care for it properly (see Care & cleaning). It's the look and weight of fine jewellery — at a fraction of the price, and without the fear of wearing it every day.
Does it fit on a sari?
Yes. The roll-clasp pin is 18 mm long — comfortable through two layers of silk pleat at the shoulder. Full sizing details here.
Can I gift it?
Yes. Every piece ships gift-ready in a muslin pouch with the maker's name and a printed dust card. Add a note at checkout if you'd like us to omit the invoice and send a personal message instead.
What about bespoke?
We take a small number of bespoke commissions per month — typically for weddings, milestone gifts, or pieces that don't exist yet. Bespoke starts at ₹35,000 and takes six to ten weeks. Write to us with what you have in mind.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes — DHL Express, fully insured, customs prepaid where possible. Full shipping details here.
What if I change my mind?
Fifteen-day returns, no questions. Returns & exchanges policy here.
Is the studio open to visitors?
By appointment in Hyderabad. We're not a retail shop — we're a working studio — but if you'd like to see pieces in person before buying, write to us and we'll arrange a viewing.
